21 ARTISTS TO LISTEN TO IN 2021

New Year...New You? Probably not...but hey might as well throw on a new playlist? If your Spotify Wrapped made you rethink any and all security you had in your music taste--look no further. Quarantine threw me back into my old habits---One Direction was my top artist of the 2020..SO here’s to breaking old habits, to opening our minds (and ear’s) to new sounds, to new adventures..here’s 21 artists (some new, some not so new) to spice up your new year!

Get thrown back into a wave of synth and techno with @glovetheband. With only two singles out, these Tampa, FL natives have some big plans for 2021. Look out for their debut LP

“Boom Nights” coming soon!

1. GLOVE

Or how about something to strut down the streets too? Preferably drenched in leather, stomping like the world is yours--throw on @thecriticals newest EP ‘Sour Grapes.’ The Criticals have been active in the virtual concert experience world, so whether you’re strutting back to the couch, or heavily live music deprived, keep up with...

Let's slow things down a bit..looking to get away? Mellow out to the captivating beats and heavenly vocals of @akilomari. Akil just released a series of 10 singles to drown out your 2020 blues. But don't stop digging there! Akil has been making music for a while now, listen to his growth by starting with his 2016 single ‘Call Me.’

Alright let's pick it back up--in the best way possible, with some BAD ASS WOMEN. Let's lay it on @THICKinbrooklyn. The ladies of THICK know how to rock and will fulfill all of your 90’s pop/punk/rock dreams (think 10 Things I Hate About You). THICK released their debut album “5 Years Behind’ in March 2020, and you can catch them advocating for social justice, or rocking through your screen all throughout 2021

Too much guitar? Is there even such a thing?? Or do you just like the cafe on a beach vibe? Was that a yes?! Check out @lovinglyclad. This indie/alternative band will be sure to accompany you through daydreams and sunset drives. They released their self-titled EP “Lovingly Clad” in 2020 and plan on releasing more music in 2022, but for now drink that iced matcha latte (oat milk of course) while cruising to Lovingly Clad

Staying on trend of ultimate drive songs..or even quintessential coming of age film anthems is @john.eatherly with Club Intl. (music collective). With a couple singles out in 2020, Club Intl. is ready to take on 2021 with the release of their debut album “The Attic” in March!

Up next is an uncategorizable artist Miss @itsconniesworld Connie Constance. Her brand new EP “The Butterfly Club” dropped in late 2020 and deserves to come with us into the new year. Connie’s sound is uniquely intricate and gives off STRONG main character energy.

Dance the night away to @the.muckers. A truly timeless sound that breathes fresh air into the world of today. The Muckers are a New York City based band who are just as electric as the city. Being that this was the last concert I went to in 2020, these guys have a special place in my heart. The band released some singles in 2020, but their debut album “Endeavor” is dropping so soon in February 2021!

I have to thank my fellow Stage Whisper-Her Co-Founder Juliette for this recommendation… @momma.band Momma. Defined as “very indie,” Momma’s sound is nostalgic and enthralling, like reading someone’s journal..They just dropped their second album “Two of Me” in mid-2020. Check out..

9. Momma

Kadri Williams (@kadriwilliams) is a name you might have heard back in 2018 because of his hit single “Daydream.” But 2018 was SO long ago, so why talk about him now? Well, he just collaborated with Lukka on “Don’t Wanna Think About You.” Kadri’s voice carries so well, might as well drag him into 2021 with us! Keep an eye out for new projects from…

Looking for 80’s dad-band sound and having the thrill of new releases? Here’s a band that will please multiple generations…@blamecandy. I can only really explain their sound as KISS-meets Mötley Crüe-meets Brian May’s guitar solos. The band just dropped a new single “Playtime!” in 2020, and are planning much more for the coming year!

Stay-cation provided by @martini.drive !! These guys know how to make some kick-ass get-out-of-your-head type music. I think after the year we’ve had who doesn't want to escape into musical bliss..oh and make sure to check out their newest song and music video!! More to come in 2021

A little shout-out to the Alma Mater with this next artist: Christina Cavasos!! She’s a current NYU student who’s vocals TRANSCEND!! Christina has been playing some live-streams through NYU’s Clive Davis Institute, so make sure to tune in and check out...

Miss head-bobbing in a crowded venue? Ugh don’t we all...give yourself a reason to do so again..possibly down the streets while @sittingonstacy blares through your headphones! These guys have been pretty active in the live stream world, so there are many ways to still get to see them! New music is also on the way :))

Here’s some more surf-rock to JAM too!! @strangecase These guys just dropped a new single “SUPERFLY” in 2020, and have much more to come...oh and did I mention... They. Play. Live. Streams. *heart eyes*

This artist you MUST have heard of before…@iamkelseylu ?? No? Well here you go Kelsey Lu. They’ve dropped THREE singles since the start of 2020..three singles that will leave you in awe…

Other than the funny name, @carpooltunnelband has so much to offer to your ears and musical journey this 2021. The guys are dropping their debut album “Bloom” on 2/26/2021!! They also have not held back on the teasers by dropping 2 songs in January 2021..check ‘em out

Thank you for sticking this one out!! I should mention that I have made your life easier by compiling all of my favorite songs from the listed artists on a Spotify playlist so check that out!
